Osun Women Affairs Commissioner Reiterates Oyetola's Support for Women in the State of Osun.
The Commissioner, Ministry of Women Children and Social Affairs Barr. Olubukola Olaboopo dropped the hint during a jumat service organised by the Ministry as one of the lined up programs in commemoration of this year's International Women's Day. The jumat service which held at the Ansarudeen Central Mosque, Lautech Area, Osogbo was to offer praises to God for His goodness in the lives of women in the State and to pray for abundance grace in the incoming women's year.
While addressing the crowd of women, Barr. Olaboopo disclosed that she brought the warm greetings of Her Excellency, the wife of Mr. Governor, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola. She disclosed that the Governor has approved that women across the state be empowered through the skills acquisition program which will be launched soon. ''This is to ensure that our women are financially independent'' she mentioned.
Commissioner charged parents to embrace gender balance and ensure that girl children are educated to give room for reduction of poverty as well as addressing the wide gaps that exist between male and female.
According to her, girl children should also note that gender is no longer a barrier to greater heights.
In her words, the APC woman leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde commended the Governor of the State of Osun for the reviewed education policy in the state. She disclosed that the Oyetola led administration is the type that listens to the yearnings of the people, stressing that market men and women who are into sales of uniform can now go back to their businesses.
The Imam of Ansarudeen Central Mosque,had earlier offered prayers for the Government of the State and the upliftment of women and oneness of the nation.
Present at the occasion were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Pharm. Omolara Ajayi, Directors in the ministry, APC State Women leader Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, market women and women from across the State.
